Identifying A Good Automotive Spray Booth

By Deborah Davis

The most impressive work on a car can be the final painting job done on it. Painting cubicles that produce properly painted cars meet some set standards for the automotive spray booth. For any booth to be termed as good, there are several things that should be considered. When cars are painted in standard painting cubicles, they come out looking exactly as what was expected.

The painting job that is done on your car should meet the standards that you expect. To ensure that the perfect job is done, and customer expectations are met, it is recommended that the painting ought to be done in a controlled environment which will meet the environmental regulations. The following are some of the requirements for a good painting booth.

It should have less dust. The activities that are done in a body shop produce a lot of dust. Dust can be eliminated or prevented by using painting cubicles that; that is clean and free from any debris, has sealed doors, and solid floor kept on constant proper pressure and closed to prevent unauthorized personnel. The workers can remove dust by wiping the surface and use several coats of paint to paint the surface.

It has proper lighting. The painters should be accurate when doing their job. Painting lies in details. The painters should be able to spot any fault on the painted car and correct immediately; the missed spots should also be easy to see and correct. Without proper lighting inside the cubicle, the painters will strain while doing their jobs which is not recommended and will negatively affect the final painting outcome.

Cubicles should need to be well equipped with ventilation equipment that will prevent over-spray. Downdraft system should be installed. The system will help prevent over-spray when the required techniques are applied by the painters. Good ventilation in a painting cubicle saves on paint and other products that are used when painting. Paint that might spread on unwanted areas can easily be pulled away hence avoids over spaying and saves on paint.

Any cubicle that prevents harmful fumes from escaping to the environment is good. A good cubicle should be able to contain the fumes within. The paints used usually produce fumes that are harmful to human beings. Reducing the fumes emitted to the environment is very important and is required by the law. Body shops always try to use paints with low fumes that are emitted to the environment. The fumes should be directed away from where people work and away from the surrounding buildings.

The safety of the cubicle will ensure that the workers are always distant from harming themselves. The tools and the safety suits that the painters wear when doing their job should be of standard. The environment inside cubicle should allow for the workers to work without worry of being in danger.

Cubicles are very important in any body shops. They ensure that the environment that the car is painted in meets the set standards and also complies with the various regulations that are set by the various municipalities that govern areas that body shops are located. It is a good idea to use body shops that follow the set laws to be on the good side of the law. Consider only shops with booths.
